The wait is (almost) over!
On July 1st, we start sales of The Bookbox, N-BB01. Designed by Norm Architects and crafted in collaboration with Karimoku Case Study, it's been almost two years in development. Not only is it exquisite, it is a true design object, and we are incredibly proud to finally show it to the world.
From the first batch of production, only 50 boxes are available. As a valued member of our community, we would therefore like to invite you to our pre-sales starting on June 30th. You'll have 24 hours to secure your N-BB01 box before the official launch. On the day of the pre-sales, we will share a link with you in an additional newsletter for the N-BB01. So if interested, sign-up to our newsletter and make sure to check your inbox on the day!
Like our other objects, The N-BB01 Bookbox is designed to accommodate everyday-life chaos. Our storage boxes provide a home to the smallest essential belongings and reflects on the fact that our storage almost always resides out of sight. The design of our new box is unique, composed by Danish architecture and design studio Norm Architects and collaboratively produced with the Japanese Karimoku Case Study. To us, it is just beautiful.
Made using carefully selected wood from Japanese furniture production, the N-BB01 collection is unique. It tells the tales of traditional craftsmanship, and the materials, with the beautiful wood and natural leather, lend it a tactility that is stimulating and distinctive to the human touch. Small perfect imperfections in the leather adds to this experience.
This unique book box collection was originally created and produced for the Archipelago House, Karmoku Case Study's third case. Drawing inspiration from local building traditions, the Archipelago House's wooden structure is influenced by traditional boat houses found along the shore. The interior of the box is kept in natural, muted materials, which reflect the nature outside. Composed of high-end materials, a Japanese oak wood frame paired with Scandinavian leather, the new storage boxes interpret several architectural elements and details. Made by leading Japanese wooden furniture manufacturer, Karimoku Furniture Inc., the collection of boxes pay homage to August Sandgren's origins of a traditional bookbinding craft merged with carpentry details and joints known from Japanese architecture.
